At the moment there's no multiplayer server running online but you can download the source code of the multiplayer server and install it on your own server.When you've got the server running you can enter the location of the server in the form below, select a level and play!

In the latest version serveral things are fixed: The player name is displayed above the tank, start values are applied as set in the editor, you can read more in the Release notes.If you have any questions or remarks, you can contact me at legoasimo at gmail dot com.

If you create an account then your username will apear above your Tank in the multiplayer world. I'm working on a version where you will be able to change the color of your tank.How does it work?
A new page is opened when you start the game. The location of page is the server address which you entered.The server works both as a proxy and multiplayer server.
All files are downloaded from playtankworld.com and the multiplayer requests are handled by the NodeJS server which runs the game logic.
Installing the server
The Tankworld multiplayer server uses NodeJS (v0.2.6) which you can download at nodejs.org.NodeJS is a Linux application so if you are using windows you have to install CygWin first. This article explains clearly how to install NodeJS on Windows.
When you've got NodeJS running all you have to do is put the four javascript files in your node folder and run the server...
node tankworld.js

Will the multiplayer server still work when the online game engine is updated?Yes, the proxy will download the correct engine. After an update of playtankworld.com the previous versions will still be available.
